CAPSULE Launch

Princeton, NJ, 2019

CAPSULE encourages a meditation on art, exploring how the intimate relationship between place and artist drives the creative process and encourages thoughtful consumption in daily living. We launched the publication on December 7, 2019. The first zine features two articles, one focused on an artist based in Hong Kong, and the other analyzing the café aesthetic in Japan in relation to traditional Japanese tea houses. Our launch event took place behind the laundry room in one of the residential halls on Princeton’s campus; to enter the space, you had to climb behind rows of laundry machines and enter through a literal “hole in the wall” before reaching a small cave-like space that we had decorated with lights, mirrors, plants, food, and copies of Issue No. 0.
